The European Research Centre for Book and Paper Conservation–Restoration is calling for abstracts for their conference
Hybrid conference Written heritage: new challenges and perspectives
(to take place at the beginning of Nov 2023; precise date will be announced)
The Congress board welcomes original contributions on issues related to the challenges and perspectives of our written heritage. Particularly welcomes contributions on the following subjects:
- first response in cases of threats due to armed conflicts
- impact of climate change
- nanotechnologies & new materials
- metagenomics/molecular archaeology
- raising public awareness of the need of preserving written heritage, prints and drawings
- machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI)
There will be general sessions and a session dedicated to projects and research carried out by young conservators and graduate students in conservation of written heritage studies.
Call for Abstracts of 150 words in English including:
- the title of the paper
- authors´ names
- affiliations
The abstracts should be sent to patricia.engel@donau-uni.ac.at before the 1st of March 2023. Please add the phrase “RC - IA congress 2023” in the title of the e-mail sent with your abstract submission and please indicate whether your paper is a regular presentation or a student/paper.
Conference Board: P. Banou, G. Boudalis, P. Engel, F. Pinzari, M. Odlyha, J. Schiro, J. Vodopivec. The papers presented in the conference will be published in a book. The publication is expected to be completed within a year's time. There are no fees neither for the conference nor for publication.
